The Many Faces of the Teacher

The Many Faces of the Teacher is an advocacy campaign aimed to extol the virtues of teaching by providing role models who can inspire excellence. It recognizes leaders who happen to be teachers, examples of true heroes who can be a source of inspiration and knowledge for their fellow teachers and students not only with their achievements but in the way they live their lives and dedicate themselves to the vocation. Together with broad-based media exposure, honorees are recognized during A Tribute to Teachers, the largest gathering of Philippine school administrators and teachers at one event.

Active Chess Center for Asia

The Active Chess Center for Asia aims to develop active chess as a spectator sport in the country and at the same time cultivate new talents in the sport. To this end, the center has partnered with the Grand Master Eugenio Torre Chess Institute (GETCI) in organizing the Chess in Schools Program, an initiative to promote chess in Philippine schools through exhibition matches featuring Filipino Chess luminaries as well as interscholastic chess tournaments.

Scholarships and Educational Subsidies

The Bato Balani Foundation also manages scholarship and educational subsidy programs for its corporate partners. In some cases, these involve cash subsidies for scholars’ tuition expenses, although in some cases entire scholarships are given to matriculate at selected schools that have partnered with BBFI. Additionally, BBFI also manages scholarship endowment funds from philanthropic individuals and organizations that wish to remain anonymous.
